Der Festungsberg liegt in der Altstadt von Salzburg und ist 542 m hoch.

Auf dem Berg steht das Wahrzeichen der Stadt, die Festung Hohensalzburg. Seit 1997 gehört er als Teil des historischen Stadtkerns Salzburgs zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe. Der Festungsberg kann zu Fuß oder mit der Festungsbahn erklommen werden. Neben einer Besichtigung der Festung bieten sich auch gemütliche Spaziergänge in dem Naturraum an.
