Der Breitenberg ist 1838 m hoch und liegt nahe Pfronten. Er kann leicht mit einer Bergbahn erreicht werden und ist einer der beliebtesten Gipfel der Region. Im Gipfelbereich steht die private Ostlerhütte.
Seinen Name verdankt er seiner optischen Erscheinung, das breite Massiv riegelt die Pfrontener Tieflandsbucht auf voller "Breite" ab.
