Con i suoi 2.165 m di altitudine, il Monte Cimone è la montagna più alta dell'Emilia-Romagna e dell'Appennino Tosco-Emiliano.

Il monte ha una forma larga e piuttosto tozza e presenta un'anticima, il Cimoncino. Sul Monte Cimone si trova il più grande comprensorio sciistico dell'Emilia-Romagna, caratterizzato da un totale di 50 km di piste larghe e di media difficoltà.
