Ta je dobil ime po temnih nepropustnih glinah, ki so nastale na dnu nekdanjega jezera. Črna se na začetku Logarske doline združi s potokom Jezera iz Matkovega kota in teče naprej kot Savinja.
Jezerske gline, skalni balvani in široko dno doline pod strmimi pobočji pričajo o delovanju ledenikov, ki so preoblikovali dolino in v njej pustili sledi.
DOSTOP
Od začetka Poti po Logarski dolini se sprehodite ob mirnem potoku do izvira. V petih minutah boste pri njem, če vas ne premami z mahom obrasla skala tik ob gladini kristalno čiste vode. Do izvira pa je lep dostop tudi z zgornje strani. Od TIC-a poleg hotela Plesnik se podate na Pot po Logarski dolini. Označena gozdna pot vas v dobre pol ure mimo gozdarske koče in travnika preko hudourniškega vršaja pripelje do izvira Črne.
