המעיין נובע לתוך בריכה מבוטנת בגדול 2X4 מטרים כאשר גובה המים עומד על כ-70 סנטימטרים ולכן ניתן לשכשך בו בלבד. בסביבת המעיין עצים המקנים לסביבת המעיין אווירה פסטורלית וכן צל. ניתן להגיע למקום ברגל דרך שביל הדסה או ציר המעיינות וכן להתקרב למקום ברכב דרך כביש הגישה לאבן ספיר היוצא מכביש 396 העובר סמוך לבית החולים הדסה עין כרם.
