The Fortuné Schmitter pottery has been producing genuine Alsatian salt stoneware for 7 generations in the village of Betschdorf.

Handcrafted, family-run business since 1844, producing genuine Alsatian salt stoneware. This utilitarian and decorative pottery is entirely made in the workshop, and has just been awarded the Indication Géographique "poteries d'Alsace" label. The firing process, characteristic of Betschdorf production, gives the pottery its authenticity. It's here that all the know-how is expressed. Salt vitrification makes the pieces watertight and unalterable.
