Das Holzknechtmuseum Ruhpolding wurde 1988 eröffnet. Das Spezialmuseum widmet sich dem Leben und Arbeiten der Holzknechte (Waldarbeiter, Forstwirte) im ehemaligen Salinengebiet Traunstein.
Das anschließende Freigelände zeigt abwechslungsreich aufbereitet Holzknechthütten, Inszenierungen zur Holzarbeit und interaktive Stationen.
Gelegen inmitten der Chiemgauer Alpen lädt das Museumsgelände zum Genießen der stimmungsvollen Umgebung ein.
