Marble, stained glass windows, coats of arms, French-style statue... The castle of Tallard, classified as a historical monument since 1958, is one of the most notable medieval fortified buildings in the Hautes Alpes. The first towers of the castle date from 1215.

Marble, stained glass, coats of arms, French statuary… The Château de Tallard (14th-16th century) is one of the most notable fortified buildings from the medieval period in the Hautes-Alpes. Its walls, flanked by circular towers, enclose a huge inner courtyard, a late Gothic chapel, a guardhouse, and the feudal lord’s residence. Guided tours from the beginning of July to mid-September. Exhibitions and shows in summer. Group tours available all year round, booking required.

Opening times

Summer holidays (July-August): Open Monday to Friday. 2 guided tours per day (morning/afternoon or evening).
* Coat of arms animation (children aged 6 to 11) in addition to guided tours for adults on certain afternoons or by simple reservation.
* Nocturnes at the castle: 2 evenings per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, "family" tour with the participation of the knights of the Ost de Roy (fights, presentation of weapons...) from 8pm.From spring onwards: cultural mediation for schoolchildren and group visits by prior arrangement.

Systematic opening for the European Heritage Days (3rd weekend in September).
