Die Burg Rettenberg wurde im Jahre 1562 durch einen Brand zerstört. Sie wurde um das Jahr 1100 erbaut und war einst der Stammsitz der Freiherren von Rettenberg. Heute findet man die Burgruine auf einer Höhe von ca. 1020 m.
Diese ist von den Orten Großdorf-Vorderburg, von Greifenmühle oder von Rottach zu Fuß erreichbar.
