The meeting point at Setzerberg invites with splendid views over the sea of vines and Göcklingen to take a break.
In the Middle Ages, there was a toll station on this high path. Depending on the load of the wagons, the toll fee was "set" here. That's where the name "Setzerberg" comes from.
Picnic in nature
Whether on a hike or a bike tour: A picnic in the open air is a special experience – especially with regional specialties from the Palatinate! To keep nature as undisturbed as possible, please only use designated rest areas. In forests and vineyards, there are often no trash cans to avoid attracting wild animals and to keep the landscape clean.
Therefore, the rule is: Everything you bring with you, you should also take back. Food scraps and packaging can be dangerous for animals and often take decades to decompose. Dispose of your waste responsibly and thus protect the unique nature of the Palatinate!
