Az állomás jelenleg a kisvasút „felső” végállomása, azonban ez a múltban korántsem volt így. A sínpárok továbbvezettek a Csarna-patak mentén déli irányba, hogy aztán szétágazzanak az egyes völgytorkolatokban, feltárva a Börzsöny belsejét: a Nagy-Hideg-hegytől északra, a Csóványostól, Magosfától nyugatra eső területeket. A mai végállomástól gyalogosan továbbindulva a K turistajelzésen több kilométeren keresztül követhető a hol jobb, hol rosszabb állapotban lévő egykori vasúti pálya, melynek helyrehozása bár tervbe van véve, jelenleg nem sok esély látszik rá.

- Fekete-kút, egy közeli forrás.
- Feketevölgy panzió, szállás- és étkezési lehetőséggel.
- A kisvasút használaton kívüli pályája a völgyben.

Public transport
- Az állomás a Kemencei Erdei Múzeumvasút vonalán található, amelyen a vonatok áprilistól októberig szombaton, vasárnap és ünnepnapokon közlekednek.
- Ha a vasút nem üzemel, a legközelebbi buszmegálló Kemencén található (Kemence, községháza), ahonnan a K turistajelzés vezet a vasúttal párhuzamos aszfaltúton Feketevölgyig.

- A Z◼ jelzésen a Csóványos felől a Magosfán és Godóváron keresztül juthatunk el ide.
- A K jelzés ebben az esetben a Börzsönyi Kéktúrát jelenti, amelyen egészen Szobig el lehet jutni Nagybörzsönyön és a Nagy-Gallán át (a másik irányban pedig Kemencén, Bernecebarátin és Drégelyváron át Diósjenőig).
Parking
- Autóval Kemence felől a vasúttal párhuzamosan futó aszfaltúton érhető el Feketevölgy állomás.
