Der Bahnhof Dalheim ist oftmals Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen in den Südlichen Naturpark Schwalm-Nette und in die Nationalparkregion de Meinweg.
Dalheim Rödgen ist der Endbahnhof der Strecke Mönchengladbach - Dalheim-Rödgen. Die Linie verkehrt wochentags zwischen den Bahnhöfen Möchengladbach - MG-Rheydt - MG-Genhausen - Wegberg - Arsbeck - Dalheim-Rödgen in der Hauptverkehrszeit im Stunden-, sonst im Zwei-Stunden-Takt.
Die Bahnhöfe Mönchengladbach und Rheydt bieten Umsteigemöglichkeiten in Richtung Niederrhein, Düsseldorf und Köln.
