The Port of Ammoudi under Oia is a picturesque location underneath the red rocks of the volcano walls that still is used by boats that connect Santorini with Thirasia and Kammeni.
The port of Ammoudi situated right under the cosmopolitan town of Oia, has a unique view towards the walls of the Caldera, as well as the overhanging buildings of Oia. With their red rock strata the walls are impressive. The port is reached from Oia via an old wide paved trail, or by road, for the more sophisticated folks. By the port a short trail leads to a small bathing spot, right next to the small island of Agios Nikolaos with its picturesque little church.
