Der Stadtteil Rietheim (ca. 750 Einwohner) liegt inmitten eines ehemaligen Vulkankraters, dessen fast kreisrunder Rand den Kern des Ortes umschließt. Der Große Föhrenberg ist mit 857m die höchste Erhebung.

Die Rietheimer Schwende ist einer der schönsten Aussichtspunkte im Biosphärengebiet Schwäbische Alb. Streuobstwiesen sowie seltene Pflanzen sind hier zu finden.
