The spa garden is a small green oasis between the Catholic town church and Funkenbadstraße. A healing spring used to bubble up here, which was already used for bathing cures in the late Middle Ages. The spring dried up due to building work and attempts to rebuild it failed.
Until the mid-1990s, the music pavilion was a regular venue for spa concerts organised by local music and choral societies. After the bypass was built and the market square and castle courtyard were redesigned, the concerts were moved to the town centre. Since then, the pavilion has fallen silent.
