Although only 150 people live in Krumke, the hamlet has a lot to offer, including one of the most beautiful parks in the Altmark region, a whimsical palace, and a charming café and guest house.
Unlike the castle, the park is open to everyone. It was laid out in the English style at the same time as the castle - with winding paths, a large pond, magnificent rhododendrons and rare tree species such as copper beech, holly and ginkgo. The carp pond was later extended and an alpine garden was created. A special feature of the park is a more than 300-year-old box hedge, one of the oldest of its kind in Europe. The park is now part of the “Saxony-Anhalt Garden Dreams” network (Gartenträume Sachsen-Anhalt).
After a walk in the park, you can enjoy a coffee in the former Kavalierhaus - or stay overnight in one of the guest rooms.
