Er wurde Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts als Kurpark angelegt und 1965 nach einem militärischen Regiment benannt, das im 1. Weltkrieg gegen italienische Truppen kämpfte. Sein Kommandant, Oberst Georg Teppner, war Miteigentümer des Warmbads und ist in der im spätgotischen Stil errichteten Kapelle am Waldrand beigesetzt. Hier fließt am westlichen Ende auch das so genannte Maibachl vorbei, eine temporäre Thermalquelle, die 2005 zum Naturdenkmal erklärt wurde.

Das Thermenresort Warmbad ist über die Tauernautobahn (A10), die Südautobahn (A2) in Richtung Italien (Abfahrt Warmbad-Villach) und die Warmbader Allee zu erreichen.

Parking

Bei der Kärnten Therme gibt es ausreichend kostenpflichtige Parkplätze. In der näheren Umgebung gibt es aber auch Gratisparkplätze.
