It does not rock back and forth in waves, yet the Floating Meadow - surrounded by water all around - looks like an island from another time: the future. The strictly rectangular surface seems to float. The horticultural design, however, is rich in contrast and almost wave-like: Gently curving mounds of flowers stretch across the area between the lawn greenery, while the water of the castle lake plays around the edges of the banks.
The floating meadow is not a "lonely island". Small bridges lead across from Schwerin Castle Garden to the modern haven of tranquility with benches, sunbathing areas and water steps; a plain white portico connects Bertha Klingberg Square with the sunbathing area.
