The oak grove on the banks of the Sieg in Stromberg is a historic site with old oak trees and a fascinating history. It has been a protected site since 1935 and offers an ideal rest stop along the Sieg cycle path. Here you can not only enjoy nature, but also immerse yourself in the past

Marvel at the mighty trunks and crowns of the oaks planted on the banks of the Sieg in Stromberg. The oak grove goes back to the efforts of the Fronhöfe of the Cassiusstift in Bonn to increase the oak population for pig fattening. An oak tree with 398 annual rings that fell in 1990 proved just how old the oak grove really is - it therefore dates back to 1592. The oak grove has been protected as a natural monument since 1935 and is now looked after by the Rhine-Sieg district and the neighbourhood of Stromberg. Located directly on the Sieg cycle path, it is a wonderful place for a rest. Here on the banks of the Sieg there is also a canoe landing stage, a small bathing bay and a children's playground.
