Park behind the cathedral
The garden surrounding the cathedral to the north, east and south, designed as a park, was laid out at the instigation of Carl Albert Leopold Freiherr von Stengel after the ruins around the cathedral were cleared in 1821. The cathedral garden, the largest horticultural green area in Speyer, consists of two parts, which are divided into an eastern and a western part by the course of the city wall.
