Park and former castle of Nice; the panoramic view.
This place is a veritable labyrinth of greenery appreciated for the freshness of its undergrowth and its surprising waterfall. Afterward, you will go for a walk and admire the remarkable view of the Baie des Anges, the old town and the port.
The Castle Hill was the site chosen by the Phocaean Greeks to found the city of Nice several thousand years ago. Today, this large landscaped park in the heart of Old Nice, the Castle Hill, takes its name from the imposing fortification that was built there and destroyed by Louis XIV in 1706. It was therefore an ancient medieval town, where we found in particular the palace of the Counts of Provence and the cathedral, two major elements of the medieval town that archaeological excavations are endeavouring to rediscover.
