The territory of the Nice Côte d'Azur metropolitan area is characterized by an extreme diversity of landscapes and terroirs. It is made up of 51 communes spread over 3 areas with marked, complementary geographical differences: the coast, the Moyen-Pays and the peaks of the Haut-Pays (Mercantour massif).
Its exceptional climate, with over 300 days of sunshine a year, its rich heritage, its hilltop villages, its ancestral know-how, its quality agriculture and gastronomy, its diversity of leisure activities and the Gelas, the Mercantour's highest peak at 3,143 m, make this a unique region.
