Get to know the history of Slovak mining during a pleasant undemanding hike.
A 6-kilometre circuit with ten stops awaits you. The first interesting sight is the musical Mining Astronomical Clock in the centre of the village of Špania Dolina. The big rock breaks open every hour and you can watch miners hard at work. Along the way, you will discover the largest and best-preserved Maximilian slag heap which will take you to the mining shaft of the same name. Another stop is the unique 36 km long water system which supplied the mines in Špania Dolina with water from the 15th to the 20th century. The mining circuit is a pleasant activity for weekend days, suitable for everyone.
