Lago d'Ampola

A wooden walkway runs along the lake and accompanies visitors to discover nature. At the end of the tour, the visitor centre offers a virtual tour to discover the aquatic world.

It is one of the very few lakes in Italy that still has a very peculiar variety of animals and plants, which is why since 1990 the Autonomous Province of Trento has protected the area as a biotope. Lake Ampola, a body of water nestled in the upper Valle di Ledro, was born during the last Wurmian glaciation when, together with that of Ledro, it formed a single large basin. Today - surrounded by wet meadows,  forests, habitats of many plant and animal species - it is a destination for those who love to discover nature, perhaps observing or photographing waterfowl, reptiles and amphibians. An ad hoc walkway allows you to admire the blooming orchids or follow a botanical trail. 

STRENGTH

It is one of the few lakes to have kept its pristine status.

Entrance to the visitor centre is free.

Every Thursday from 13 July to 24 August, 10:00 am
Rate: € 5.00 (free up to 6 years)
