It was first mentioned in 1520 in a description of the Bann border. It is a sessile oak that died in 2011 and its crown was removed in 2003. As a result, the tree stump is now only 1 metre high with a trunk circumference of 3.80 metres. The Kleinottweiler Friends' Association, founded in 2020, has planted a new sessile oak there and created a flowering and recreational area with nesting boxes and an insect hotel.
