Map / L'observatoire ornithologique
The ornithological observatory was created in 2011 by the ONF and the City as part of the International Year of the Forest. The site is located on the level of a former clay extraction quarry for the manufacture of ceramics, and was renaturated at the end of the exploitation. A part of the site, resulting from the underwater extraction of the clay, was maintained as a water body.
This space is today favourable with the observation of nature, many birds are present: herons, water hens, ducks and for the most attentive and morning, kingfishers and crested grebes...
This place, reflecting the richness of the biodiversity of the Haguenau Exceptional Forest®, allows you to take time to relax and enjoy the spectacle of nature in a unique forest setting.
