Ein idyllischer Nationalpark in Aberdeenshire im Norden Schottlands

Der Nationalpark und der See, dem das Reservat seinen Namen verdankt, sind in jedem Fall eine Reise wert. Der friedlich gelegene See liegt an der Grenze zum Balmoral Estate. In der Umgebung des Sees sind die verschiedensten Vogel- und Tierarten anzutreffen, von Eichhörnchen und Austernfischern bis hin zum Rothirsch. Bei einer Wanderung am Seeufer entlang, gelangt man zur königlichen "Hütte" Glas allt Shiel, die für Königin Victoria errichtet und gern von ihr als Rückzugsort genutzt wurde. Heute wird das Gebäude bevorzugt von Prinz Charles benutzt.
