Bezirksmuseum Währing is the local history museum for Vienna’s 18th district, showcasing the story of its former villages, people, markets, transport and culture through objects, photos and documents.

Located at Währinger Straße 124, this community‑run museum traces the heritage of Währing, Weinhaus, Gersthof and Pötzleinsdorf with displays of everyday objects, historical maps, models and archival images. Highlights include an early 16th‑century wood relief of the “Dying Mary among the Apostles”, models of local businesses and transport, and changing special exhibitions on topics like neighbourhood parks, markets and cultural life. The museum also offers activities such as a museum quiz for families and free donations‑based entry.

Parking along Währinger Straße and nearby roads is mostly part of Vienna’s Kurzparkzone (short‑term paid parking), so you’ll need to pay via meter or parking app during the relevant hours on weekdays and possibly Saturdays.
