Northeast of Wachenheim. This is the excavation of a Roman villa with various building parts from the 1st to the 5th century.
Visitation is possible at any time. Direct access via the B 271. Parking spaces (including bus parking) are available.

Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Helmut Bernhard from the State Office for Archaeological Monument Preservation Speyer, the villa rustica Wachenheim and its outbuildings were excavated, secured, and partially reconstructed. A 15,000 m² open-air museum was created. The cemetery belonging to the Roman estate was discovered in 1997 on the Wachenheim-Friedelsheim road, 500 m south of the estate. Stone sarcophagi, stone cists, and tile graves were found, some with valuable grave goods: a precious lavish goblet, a military belt, a fallen cup, also known as the "Wachenheim Urschoppenglas," and much more. The grave goods can be viewed at the historical museum in Speyer.
