The museum is home to precious religious artifacts from the Romanesque and Gothic periods

Since 1987, the town´s museum has been housed in the Petersberg keep, the former living quarters of the Archbishops of Salzburg. This remarkable building was constructed between 1180 and 1230 and is 28.3m (92.8 ft.) high. 127 steps lead from the entrance to the six floors, on which a special exhibition vividly documents the town´s development.
The chapel is home to precious religious artifacts from the Romanesque and Gothic periods and there is a large collection of secular antiques.
From the top floor visitors have a spectacular view of the town and the surrounding countryside
There is an inn next to the keep which is open in late spring and summer.
