Das ehemalige Wohnhaus des Philosophen Johann Gottlieb Fichte ist heute Literaturmuseum zur Jenaer Frühromantik.

Das Romantikerhaus ist seit dem 5. Oktober 2026 geschlossen. Das Museum widmet sich als einziges Museum in Deutschland an einem historischen Ort der Geschichte und Bedeutung der Frühromantik – jener Bewegung, die von Jena aus europäische Kulturgeschichte prägte. Nun beginnt ein neues Kapitel: Das Gebäude wird baulich ertüchtigt, die Dauerausstellung wird neu konzipiert und Hof und Garten werden neugestaltet. Ziel ist es, die Geschichte der Jenaer Frühromantik künftig zeitgemäß zu vermitteln und zugleich die Aufenthaltsqualität, Sichtbarkeit und Barrierefreiheit des Museums zu verbessern. Die Neugestaltung erfolgt in den kommenden Jahren. Die Wiedereröffnung ist voraussichtlich für 2029 geplant. Mehr Informationen finden Sie hier.
