The Otterberg Museum is an integral part of the town house built in the Baroque period. The house has a handicapped-accessible elevator that goes up to the top floor. Here you will find everything to do with the history of Otterberg.
The first floor houses outstanding exhibits on the history of the Cistercian monastery.
On the second floor there are rooms in which the immigration of the French-speaking Walloons at the time of the Palatinate Electors is brought to life for visitors by means of foam models, documents and display boards. The period of French rule is also illustrated by exhibits including finds from the Battle of Morlautern and the Gallows Redoubt. The time of the Bavarian kings in the 19th century is vividly presented with original costumes and showpieces. Oil paintings and graphics by the Otterberg painter Heinrich Roos can be seen in one room. The top floor contains exhibits on crafts as well as demonstration objects from the emerging industrial age. One room is dedicated to an Otterberg citizen who did not survive the sinking of the "Titanic".
