Hier lebte der junge Martin mit seinen Eltern und seinen Geschwistern, bis er 1497 Mansfeld verließ. Hunderte bei der Grabung geborgene Gegenstände ermöglichen es, die Lebensumstände im Hause Luther zu beleuchten. Luthers bewohnten ein stattliches Gehöft mit Wohngebäuden, Stallungen und Lagerhäusern. 1879–1883 wurde das Wirtschaftsgebäude zur Luthergedenkstätte umgebaut.
