Ein Gartenhaus zum Anfassen nordöstlich von Apolda Am 27. August 2002, dem Vorabend des 251. Geburtstages von Johann Wolfgang Goethe, wurde mit Blick auf die Toskana Therme in Bad Sulza das Goethe Gartenhaus II eröffnet. Wie es der Name schon vermuten lässt, ist das Goethe Gartenhaus 2 eine exakte Kopie des Original-Gartenhauses in Weimar. Es wurde 1999 im Rahmen des Weimarer Kulturstadtjahres im Park an der Ilm gebaut, um das Original zu schonen. 2002 wurde es im Ganzen nach Bad Sulza umgesetzt und unterhalb der Toskana Therme platziert. Besucher können dort, im Gegensatz zum Gartenhaus in Weimar, das Mobiliar anfassen und dieses auch zum Ausruhen nutzen. Es wird für diverse Ausstellungen und Lesungen genutzt. Zudem können die Räumlichkeiten für Veranstaltungen gemietet werden. Auch das Standesamt hat dort eine Zweigstelle, sodass im historischen Ambiente geheiratet werden kann.
