Auch wenn die Nockberge auf den ersten Blick recht sanft erscheinen mögen, ist der Anstieg umso fordernder. Die Panoramastraße verbindet mit 52 Kehren auf einer Länge von 34km den Nordwesten (Innerkrems) mit dem Südosten (Ebene Reichenau) des Biosphärenpakr Nockberge.
