Mit der klassizistischen Fassade aus 1800 bietet das zwischen 1772 und 1775 entstandene historische Rathaus den Besuchern ein besonderes Flair. Modernes schließt sich durch den gläsernen Erweiterungsbau ausdem Jahre 2007 an.

Das Gebäude des heutigen historischen Teils des Rathauses wurde Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts an der Nordseite des Marktes errichtet. Es ist ein dreigeschossiges breites Backsteingebäude mit leicht hervor tretenden breitem Mittelbau, der drei Fensterachsen hat. Auch dieses Gebäude wurde im Krieg nicht verschont. Der ursprünglich halbkreisförmige Giebel wurde bei der Beseitigung von Kriegsschäden im Jahre 1948 durch einen Dreiecksgiebelmit zentralem Rundfenster ersetzt. Es gibt drei rundbogige Türöffnungen, von denendie mittlere heute durch eine Verglasung geschlossen ist. An den Seitenteilen des breiten Gebäudes befinden sich zwei Torbögen. Der linke Torbogen wird heute noch als Durchfahrt zum Hof genutzt, aus dem rechten Bogen wurde eine Blendnische mit einbezogenem Fenster.
