Egy gyilkosság adta a ma Öreg-vágásnak nevezett magaslat nevét.
A névről egy régi tarvágásra vagy nyiladékra is gondolhatnánk, de valójában ez a helynév egy gyilkosság történetét őrzi. Állítólag az 1848–49-es forradalom és szabadságharc végén, a világosi fegyverletétel után egy öreg baka tartott búsan hazafelé az erdőn keresztül. A hegytetőn megpihent, amikor mögé osont egy, a környéken kaszáló legény, aki egy suhintással levágta a katona fejét, hogy aztán zsebeit kiforgatva elvegye utolsó zsoldját. Az így szerzett pénzből jól berúgott, majd a kocsmában kifecsegte, miből is tellett a borra. A kegyetlen legény további sorsáról nem tudunk, de galád tettét máig őrzi a 654 méteres hegy neve.

- A legközelebbi tömegközlekedési pont Dobogókő, ahova a 860-as távolsági busszal juthatunk. A Pilisszentkereszt, Dobogókő hegytető nevű megállóban érdemes leszállni.
