Eine Ofenfüllung von 60t Rohstein ergab ungefähr 30t gebrannten dolomitschen Kalk. Die händische Vorbereitung des Rohsteins und die Beschaffung der nötigen Menge von 490 bis 50 Kubikmeter Brennholz für den Brand einer Ofenfüllung erforderte ungefähr 8-Mann-Wochen. Die Brenndauer betrug 85 Stunden. Wobei Brenntemperaturen bis 2100 Grad C erreicht wurden. Nach dem Brand wurde der Kalk verpackt und sofort ausgeliefert, um den Zerfall des gebrannten Produkts durch Hydratation zu vermeiden. Die Auslieferung bzw. der Transport erfolgt fast ausschließlich mit Pferdefuhrwerken. Im renovierten Kalkofen selbst sind weiter Details über den Brennprozess dokumentiert.
