Sukupolvien muistomerkki, Jäykänaura, paljastettiin 7.7.1968 ja sen pystytti Vimpeli-Seura ry.
Muistomerkillä on haluttu muistaa vimpeliläisen merkkimiehen Erkki Jäykän (Erik Jaakonpoika Lillstrang) tekemää työtä. Yhdessä seppä Heikkilän kanssa hän kehitti ja valmisti ensimmäisen kääntöauran, joka tuohon aikaan oli mullistava keksintö.
Tyylitelty aura seisoo jalustalla, joka on muurattu kalkkikivestä. Yläosa on kärnäiittiä. Auran on takonut Juho Mustamaa ja jalustan muurannut Uolevi Mäkelä.
Jalustan yläreunaa kiertää rautavanne, johon on hitsattu korkokirjaimin ”Mikä säilyy ajassa muuttuvassa, on arvokasta”. Jalustan sivuilla on samalla menetelmällä kirjattu Vimpelin talojen puumerkit 1850-luvulta.
