Stempelstelle am Jakobsweg. Es handelt sich um das älteste Haus der Stadt Marsberg aus dem Jahre 1589.

Das Haus wurde im Jahre 1589 von Johann Mertens senior erbaut, einem Mitglied der Marsberger Kaufmannszunft und Reidemeister. Es handelt sich um eines der wenigen Gebäude, die 1646 bei der Zerstörung der Stadt im 30jährigen Krieg nur leicht beschädigt worden ist. 1781 gelangte es in den Besitz der Familie Fobbe(n) und erhielt die aufwendige Schmuckfassade mit Inschrift, hinter der die Originalinschrift von 1589 verdeckt worden ist. 1880 erwarb der Urgroßvater des derzeitigen Besitzers das Haus für 1.800 Mark. Seit dieser Zeit befindet es sich in Familienbesitz.
