The history fountain is located on the church square in the centre of Hornberg and was built in 1989. Over 900 years of history are vividly presented to the viewer by means of twelve important events.
The fountain is intended as an invitation to reflect on and analyse the eventful past of the town of Hornberg.
It commemorates, for example, the founding of the Hornberg lordship in the 11th century, "The Hornberg Shooting", two bombing raids that hit Hornberg during the Second World War, the incorporation of the communities of Niederwasser and Reichenbach, etc.
The fountain was designed by master builder Willy Heine, the reliefs were created by sculptor Armin Göhringer from Zell am Harmersbach.
