Fast schon 500 Jahre stützt sich der Ritter auf dem "Röhrbrunnen" - von den Gengenbachern auch "Schwed" genannt - auf sein Schild mit dem Stadtwappen...

...und verweist stolz auf die Reichsstadtprivilegien in seiner rechten Hand. Das Original (es befindet sich im Museum Haus Löwenberg) wurde 1582 von Max Spranger aus Straßburg geschaffen und auf seinen Renaissance-Sockel gehoben. Das Becken des Brunnens wurde wegen Beschädigungen 1796 erneuert.
