The current structure was rebuilt and modified several times over the centuries, particularly following damage caused by earthquakes and natural wear. Its present appearance largely dates from the nineteenth century. Rising above the city centre, the tower combines practical function with symbolic significance, representing Plovdiv's historical development as a major commercial and administrative centre. The surrounding hilltop park is a popular destination for both residents and visitors, offering excellent viewpoints over the Old Town, the Maritsa River, and the modern city. Today, the Clock Tower remains one of Plovdiv's most photographed landmarks and a reminder of the city's Ottoman and National Revival heritage.
