Das alte Siechenhaus neben der St. Rochuskapelle ist über den Totenweg mit dem Kloster Ebrach verbunden.

Das Siechenhaus für Leprakranke wurde 1594 auf einer Anhöhe südlich von Großgressingen erbaut. Im Jahr 1611 schlug die Pest hier besonders stark zu. Deshalb beschloss der damalige Abt neben der Einrichtung für die Kranken eine Kapelle (St. Rochus Kapelle) und einen Friedhof errichten zu lassen. Als die Räumlichkeiten nach Eindämmung der Pest leer wurden, diente das Siechenhaus dem Mesner von St. Rochus als Wohnsitz. Später wurde es als Schulhaus genutzt und heute ist es vermietet.
