Maria Waldrast ist der höchstgelegene Wallfahrtsort Tirols und gleichzeitig ein Kloster des Servitenordens. Auf über 1600 m ist das Kloster am Fuße der Serles gelegen und damit eines der höchstgelegenen in Europa überhaupt.
Im Jahre 1465 ist die Wallfahrtskirche eingeweiht worden, bis heute ist sie Ziel vieler Pilger. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit verdient der Brunnen im Inneren der Kirche: Dem Wasser wird heilende Wirkung nachgesagt.
Genauso beliebt ist Maria Waldrast aber auch bei Outoor-Begeistertenm, die hier ihre Bergwanderungen, Skitouren, Langlauftouren oder Rodeltouren starten - und das nicht nur wegen der leckeren Tiroler Schmankerl des Klostergasthofs.
