Beuron liegt fotogen zu Füßen hoch aufragender Felswände, umgeben von Wiesen und Feldern in einer weiten Flussschleife der jungen Donau, mitten im Herzen des Naturparks Obere Donau. 1868 zur Abtei erhoben, hat das Kloster mit seiner Kunstschule bis heute bedeutenden Einfluss auf die religiöse Kunst des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts. Eines der Hauptwerke ist die nahegelegen St.-Maurus-Kapelle.
