White Mill

The Weißmühle, today privately owned and used as a residential building, with the area bounded by the Krebsbach, Wieseck and Mühlbach streams and the entire building complex, is one of the Hessian cultural monuments for urban planning reasons because of its historical and townscape-forming location. In 1627 the "weiße Möhl" was mentioned for the first time in a sales letter and the owner Adam Arnt von Oynhausens was named. The stately estate consisted of "a two-story dwelling house, along with a mill building..., as well as ... a barn, large cattle shed, pigsties, woodshed and a bakehouse......and 34.1/4 acres of standard size land mostly situated around the mill, of the best quality....".
