Die Schiffmühle ist Forschungsobjekt und technisches Museum auf der Mulde in Höfgen und wird vom ansässigen Hotel "Zur Schiffsmühle" betrieben. Hier finden ganzjährig Führungen, Tagesprojekte (Anmeldung erforderlich), Besichtigung und Fachvorführungen zur Geschichte der Mühlen statt. Pauschalangebote für Bildungsträger und Reisegruppen sind ebenfalls möglich. Diese Sonderform der Mühlen starb Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts restlos aus. Seit 1992 funktioniert die Anlage, die äußerlich der historischen Schiffmühle nachempfunden wurde, als Pilotprojekt für die Wasserversorgung der Anlagen im Jutta-Park.
