Das Sägewerk war bis 1994 in Betrieb.
1471 verlieh "Graf Eberhard im Bart" seine Walk- und Schleifmühle an "Hainrich Ferwer". Die Bedingungen waren günstig: kostenloses Holz, Transport von Holz und Schleifsteinen, Befreiung von Steuern, Schätzung und Frondiensten. 1772 brannte die Mühle ab. Rund 30 Jahre später wurde an dieser Stelle die heutige Mühle erbaut. Das Sägewerk war bis 1994 in Betrieb.
