Aussichtsturm Paulinenwarte is a historic 23 m lookout tower in Vienna’s Türkenschanzpark, opened when Emperor Franz Joseph I inaugurated the park in 1888.
The Paulinenwarte stands on a hill in the landscaped Türkenschanzpark and offers panoramic views over Vienna and the Vienna Woods, though mature trees now partly limit the vista. Built in brick in the style of the surrounding late 19th‑century villas, it served both as an observation tower and a water reservoir fed from a nearby well. Restored and reopened in 2010, the tower is usually open to visitors on select weekends in spring–autumn, with a small fee to climb the steps to the top. Originally it also stored and distributed water through the park. It was named after Princess Pauline Metternich, who donated many exotic plants to the park.

Public transport
Take tram 41 to the Türkenschanzpark stop or bus 37A / 40A / 10A to nearby stops; it’s a short walk through the park paths to the Paulinenwarte. Alternatively, the S45 S‑Bahn to Wien Gersthof and a few minutes’ walk will also get you close.Parking
Street parking directly around the park is often limited and may be part of Vienna’s paid short‑term zones, where you’ll need a parking voucher or app (e.g. Handyparken). Space can be hard to find at peak times, so many visitors drive to a nearby garage and then walk or take public transport to the park.Coordinates
